Even if you're not preparing for a fight, these boxing nutrition and weight-loss tips can help you get in great shape and improve your performance in the gym and in fights. Tony looks back at his early years as an amateur boxer when he would make weight and then eat fast food before competing. He explains why losing weight on the scale is not always the same as losing body fat and why understanding your body composition matters. Tony shows how the Hume Pod uses eight sensors in its handles and foot plates to track body composition and help boxers understand what is happening inside their bodies while cutting weight. It tracks more than overall weight helping fighters see why losing weight and losing body fat are not the same thing. He warns about extreme dehydration and last-minute weight cuts, discussing water loading and old-school advice to use saunas or hot baths to sweat weight off. Tony recommends getting close to your target weight weeks before a fight and monitoring your weight consistently instead of starving yourself or avoiding water throughout training camp. Tony also shares how he made weight for a jiu-jitsu national championship at age 40 using AI to help plan his meals and water intake before winning gold as a white belt. When discussing a boxing diet for weight loss and fitness, he recommends keeping food simple and consistent rather than relying on processed food, fast food, or sugary drinks.
