The trio discuss the changing landscape of amateur and professional boxing, IBA’s growing influence in the sport and the organisation’s plans to invest significant money into fighters and national boxing programmes, including the upcoming IBA President’s Cup. Porter gives his thoughts on the current state of boxing’s sanctioning bodies and reacts strongly to the controversy surrounding WBA heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley and the decision to put another version of the heavyweight title on the upcoming Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua mega-fight. The conversation then turns to Derek Chisora and his continued pursuit of a world heavyweight title. Porter explains why he believes Chisora’s determination to finally become world champion continues to keep him in the sport, while the panel debate when a fighter should ultimately decide to walk away. Porter also opens up on his own retirement before discussing his ongoing rivalry with fellow former world champion Timothy Bradley. He explains where their tension originated, reveals that conversations have taken place about the pair potentially getting into the ring and makes it clear that the competitive fire is still there should the opportunity arise. Manny Pacquiao’s future is also discussed, including potential fights with Amir Khan and Danny Garcia and whether the Filipino legend should continue competing at this stage of his career. The panel then debates one of boxing’s biggest questions: whose career would you rather have — Floyd Mayweather’s undefeated 50-0 record or Manny Pacquiao’s extraordinary career fighting across multiple weight divisions? Porter explains why he would choose Pacquiao’s career, while the panel also gives their predictions should Mayweather and Pacquiao ever meet in a long-awaited rematch.
