Speaking to Seconds Out’s Keith Fraser, Williams explains why he felt the rematch came too soon for Wardley and praises the improvements Dubois has made under trainer Don Charles. “He doesn’t just rely on his power, he boxes,” says Williams, highlighting Dubois’ ability to make adjustments, his physical strength, punching power and impressive jab. Asked how he would prepare a heavyweight to face Dubois right now, Williams jokes: “Run away! Don’t go nowhere near him!” Williams also discusses what could come next for Dubois, including a Filip Hrgović rematch and a potential clash with Agit Kabayel, while giving his thoughts on Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua. Moses Itauma’s future is also discussed, with Williams urging patience with the 21-year-old before a potential showdown with Dubois further down the line. “Dubois will ruin and wreck any heavyweight that comes in the ring with him now.” Watch the full interview for Derek Williams’ reaction to Daniel Dubois vs Fabio Wardley 2 and his verdict on Hrgović, Kabayel, Itauma, Fury and Joshua. #DanielDubois #FabioWardley #Boxing
